Set Notification Automations from a Table

Topic

Notification automations can put the manual task of sending reminders and alerts on autopilot to keep your team in sync with your table data (e.g. a due date is approaching or when key data changes).

Types of notification automations:

  • Reminders are triggered at a certain time or date you select. An email notification and an in-app notification are sent to the recipient(s) to remind them about a task.

  • Alerts are triggered when a certain change occurs. For example, a new item or row is added to your table after an app user completes a form. An email notification and an in-app notification are sent to the recipient(s) to alert them of the change.

Steps

  1. To begin building the notification, click the Create automation dropdown and select an option.

  1. Click + Add new.

  2. Customize your notification settings (this example shows a Reminder) and click Apply.

:hammer_and_wrench: Builder's tip: When entering individuals into a column formatted as contacts, the data needs to be people in your team or organization who are already formatted as contacts in order for them to receive a notification (you will know they are already formatted as contacts if they appear in the dropdown suggestion menu when you start typing their information). Notifications will not go out to free-form email addresses.

  1. Click Go and view your automation blocks from the left panel.
