When creating a new account '+' is not supported as a special character in a password field. This is most probably a bug because '-', '/', '*' are all supported. Additionally it would be useful to list all supported special characters in the account creation screen to make it easier to choose a password.
I just tested this and you're absolutely right. Plus sign doesn't work in the password. Filing a bug.

Not sure if it's on purpose, but a space isn't considered a special character either.
