Working with Tables

Tables in Honeycode store your data and can be linked together to create powerful apps. You can create new tables, import existing data to new table, and import data to existing tables. This article will take you through these options.

Create a new table

You can create new tables by simply importing a CSV file or adding a blank table and manually inputting the data.

Steps to create new table

  1. To open a new table, click the tables icon in the left nav.
  2. Then click the [+].
  3. You can either import a CSV file or add a blank table.
  4. Right click on the table name to rename it (no spaces or special characters), and hit enter. That's it!

Add data to an existing table

There are programmatic ways of adding data to existing tables. You can use an integration with Zapier or AppFlow, a Honeycode API, or simply append the data. We’ll look at that here.

Steps to append data to existing tables

  1. Click the Tables icon in the left nav.

  2. Click the [...] (ellipsis) to the right of the table to append data.

3 Select the CVS file on your system to import and click Open.

  1. Map the imported data to your table in the modal.

a. If the first row of imported data contains column headers, be sure that is checked.

b. Honeycode matches incoming data to existing data and column formats.

c. If the imported column headers do not match existing, select the imported column to map to existing.

d. When all columns are mapped, click Import.

Honeycode has imported your new data to the existing table, keeping column formats, including picklists, intact.

See our articles more details on adding and formatting columns and adding picklists (drop-downs) to a table.
